How we pick

Velnip exists for one question: will this dock actually work with my laptop?

1. Compatibility first

We start from the laptop maker’s official limits, such as Apple’s per-chip external display counts. A dock that cannot deliver what your laptop supports, or that needs more than your port offers, does not make the list for you.

2. Specs from the source

Every spec we quote comes from the manufacturer’s own product or support page, linked next to it with the date we checked it. When two official sources disagree, we say so instead of picking the convenient number.

3. No pretend testing

We do not claim hands-on tests we have not done, and we never publish made-up reviews or star ratings. Prices change constantly, so we send you to the retailer for the current price.

4. Commissions never set the order

We earn affiliate commissions on some links. The ranking is decided by fit for your laptop and value, never by which program pays more. Full disclosure.
